Spa 101

The control box has sensors that prevent the heater from turning on.

You most likely have a flow issue, meaning there is no water flowing thru your heater.

1) The problem might be an air lock or cavitation issue.
2) If you hear a humming or clicking sound most likely your motor is bad.
3) A button on top controller may not functioning properly.
4) A fuse in control box might be bad.

The issue may be cavitation/ air lock, or you might have a broken impeller inside the pump.

Check your circuit breaker. See if it’s tripped. Reset if it is.

Check the main fuse; it may be bad.

Check spa breaker inside house panel.

GFCI stands for ground fault circuit interruptor. If there is a short in an electrical component, a GFCI will shut down the electricity in as little as 1/40th of a second, protecting you from electric shock.

Misc

Spa covers are made of vinyl covering with Styrofoam inserts. Due to the steam from the spa, it can act like a sponge. Also, any holes or tears in the vinyl will allow water to seep in.

Vinegar and elbow grease is a tried and true formula!

Water Issues

All spas with digital controls have at least two sensors. Some have more. These sensors are designed to protect the spa from overheating.

Most likely, your chemical/salt balance is incorrect. Also check that your filter is clean.

Best bet is to drain and clean your tub. I recommend that you wipe it down with bleach. Once the tub is clean, refill. If it is still cloudy, repeat and clean with a coagulant chemical.

Could be a few issues:
1) You’ve used too many chemicals.
2) Spa water needs replacing.

Could be too many chemicals are being used.
Could be debris from your spa cover.

Often this issue is due to moisture/ steam from the hot tub and or the cover. Could also be from a slight drip inside the cabinet or from rainwater.
